Bark in the Park 2024 Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When is the Bark in the Park?

A: The Bark in the Park is on Sunday, May 19, in Alton Baker Park. The fun begins at 7 a.m. and lasts until noon.

Q: If I have registered and am walking/running with my dog, is it OK if my husband or child comes along?

A: Registration for the event is per person, not per dog, so if your spouse or other family member wants to walk with you, registration is necessary. An exception is made for children under 6 years old.

Q: How many dogs can I run with?

A: You can run with as many dogs as you can safely handle!

Q: Do I have to raise money to participate?

A: Although Greenhill Humane Society relies on this fundraiser to care for homeless pets, there is no minimum fundraising requirement to participate. However, we do suggest a $25 donation which will help significantly. Remember, the more money we raise, the more animals we can help.

Q: How is the money I raise used?

A: One-hundred percent of the money raised through pledges goes directly to the care of homeless pets in our shelters. Over 5,000 cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, and other animals are brought to us each year.

Q: I’m a cat lover. Do I have to bring a dog or may I come by myself?

A: You don’t have to bring a dog in order to participate in the event. We welcome cat lovers! You might consider walking in honor of your cat by pinning a photo of your cat to your shirt.

Q: Where is parking available?
